Track actions with Activity Stream
Follow up on the actions made and the time of use in the Playboard
Activity Stream helps merchandisers understand and monitor all actions done in the Playboard in detail. It allows searching and filtering by tool and action for a specific period of time. This dashboard works as a history of the changes made in the Playboard tools and features.
Activity Stream - (A) Header, (B) Metrics, and (C) Audits.
Getting started with Activity Stream
The Activity Stream data visualization has three main sections:
Header
The header (A) includes the date selector, the Tool field, the Action field, and the data filters, if applicable.
With the date selector, you can narrow the period when the actions were performed in the Playboard. There are four options:
- Today: actions performed over the current day (default for the Metrics section).
- Last 7 days: actions performed over the last 7 days.
- Last 30 days: actions performed over the last 30 days.
- Custom date: actions performed over a selected date range.
With the Tool field, you can select the tool for which actions performed during the selected period are displayed in the Audit section. This filter does not affect the Metrics section.
With the Action field, you can select the type of action you want to use to filter the history data entries displayed in the Audit section. The available types of actions are: Create, Update, Delete, Download, Search, or all of them.
Use the search box to find the action you need by user. When using the search box, you can search for strict matching results to get results that match exactly the query you entered. You can choose to have non-strict matching results, including either the configurations whose name matches exactly or partially your query terms.
Metrics
In Metrics (B), the views and interactions with the sections of the Playboard are displayed in a bar to show how the Playboard has been used. There are two different ways of displaying data; you can switch from one to the other by clicking the toggle:
- Views: number of page visualizations. A view is counted when the user spends more than 10 seconds on a page or makes an action (create, update, delete, etc.). The total number of views is visible next to the toggle. When hovering over any of the bar strips, the number of views changes to display the ones belonging to the section of the Playboard selected.
- Interactions (Actions): total number of actions made in the Play section. You also see the percentage related to each type of action detailed on the right.
For both Views and Interactions, click one of the bar strips to select a section of the Playboard, and the features or tools belonging to it are displayed. Then, hover over one of the feature or tool strips to display the total number of views or interactions belonging to the selection.
Audits
In Audits (C), a list of the actions performed in the different features and tools of the Playboard is displayed in detail. The entries are grouped by date on a daily basis. The information displayed on the list is the following:
- User: the email of the user who made the action.
- ID of the entry: the identifier of the history data entry displayed under the user's email.
- Type of action: action made.
- Tool: tool or feature used for the action.
- Time: time when the action was made. By hovering over, the date and time are displayed in a tooltip.
Click the arrow on the right to display more information about the entry. The data shown is different depending on the tool and is shown in two columns: Previous state and Next state. Some common fields are: Created on, Updated on, Updated by, Status, Filters (such as Language), and Scheduled.
